Matteo Ciotola is an Italian filmmaker, screenwriter and editor. He co-wrote the screenplay of Joseph Troia’s directorial debut, The Revolution. The film was praised for its unpredictable dialogue and rich tension, delivering a bold and consistently engaging narrative. The Revolution was showcased as part of the TVCO Lineup during the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film and had its world premiere at the Academy-Award Qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, Ireland’s leading film festival, where it was nominated in both the International Competition and Best Debut Feature categories.
His no-budget graduation horror short film That Lives Within demonstrated his talent in creating eerie imagery and striking visuals; it was selected for the Hot Springs International Horror Film Festival and acquired by Cineverse.
During this period, he undertook a long and intensive apprenticeship as an Assistant Director, working over the years with companies such as Netflix, Rai Fiction, Fandango, and Minerva Pictures.
